We are proud to announce our movie-based discussion series ” Three perspectives on Ukrainian identity”
The series consists of three movies to be shown in Lymy 10.2, 3.3, 24.3.
We start from the classic magic realist film that was made in 1965 by a genius, politically repressed director. The plot is based on the novel that tells a “Romeo and Juliet tale” of young Ukrainian Hutsul (ethnic group) lovers trapped on opposite sides of a Carpathian family blood feud.
This movie will initiate the series of discussions, as this extraordinary piece gives us a chance to understand Ukraine from the perspective of ethnicity and ethnic habits that are still reflected in modern Ukraine.
The screening will start at 19.15
