A warm welcome to our second Lymy Aperitivo of the year on Thurday 30th of March. Aperitivo is a great chance to (almost) start the weekend with some drinks, vegan food and interesting conversations at Lymy.
This time the collective behind the annual Tattoo Circus Helsinki political prisoner support event will be discussing with us about event organising as a collective, prison abolition, and support for political prisoners around the world.
The discussion starts around 6 pm, and after that the evening continues with hanging out and enjoying food and drinks in a more informal setting till around 9 pm.
You are warmly welcome to Lymy to enjoy a wonderful evening
Welcome to our spring clothing swap on Saturday March 25 at 12-16. The idea is simple: bring nice clothes to share and/or take cool clothes to wear. B–) You’re also welcome to sit down for a coffee while you wait for new arrivals. Left-over clothes will be saved for the next clothing swap or donated away. You may also take your pieces back at the end of the clothing swap.
On the Saturday after Friends’ Day we invite you to Lymy from 12–4 pm to join us in a casual celebration of friendship, camaraderie and love. We will sell vegan waffles and coffee drinks including a spicy new seasonal specialty. 😈
“Friends do not share any ‘thing’ (an emergence, a law, a place, a taste): they are always already shared through the experience of friendship. Friendship is the sharing which precedes all sharing because what it shares is the simple fact of existing, life itself. And it is this partition without object, this original consent that constitutes politics.” — Giorgio Agamben, L’amitié (2007)
We are proud to announce our movie-based discussion series ” Three perspectives on Ukrainian identity”
The series consists of three movies to be shown in Lymy 10.2, 3.3, 24.3.
We start from the classic magic realist film that was made in 1965 by a genius, politically repressed director. The plot is based on the novel that tells a “Romeo and Juliet tale” of young Ukrainian Hutsul (ethnic group) lovers trapped on opposite sides of a Carpathian family blood feud.
This movie will initiate the series of discussions, as this extraordinary piece gives us a chance to understand Ukraine from the perspective of ethnicity and ethnic habits that are still reflected in modern Ukraine.
A warm welcome to the first Lymy Aperitivo of the year!
Aperitivo is a great chance to start the weekend with some drinks, vegan food and interesting conversations at Lymy. This time we will discuss together with the co-op Oma Maa about food sovereignty, community-supported agriculture and local, sustainable food production.
The discussion starts around 7 pm, and after that the evening continues with hanging out and enjoying food and drinks in a more informal setting till around 10 pm. You’ll also have the chance to taste how sovereign food production tastes!
You are warmly welcome to Lymy to enjoy a wonderful evening!
Seek refuge from the cold and have some winter solstice cake at our cozy pop-up café on Saturday December 17 at 12-16. Come by yourself to enjoy a latte and browse some magazines or bring a friend to hang out with!
Friends, Lymy turns 7 years and is thriving! We would like to celebrate this with all of you who have come together in Lymy: Acting, hiding, scheming, enjoying and sharing the lust for life in common.
Lymy’s 7-years party is on Friday Nov 25, at 18.00-21.00
We have a special request for the groups who use Lymy: we would be happy if you could say some words, a song, or any other performative element of your choice. It can be in relation to Lymy as a space, more broadly on autonomous spaces in Helsinki, or the situation of current political struggles.
This Saturday (Nov 19) at 12.00–16.00 Lymy turns into a cozy pop-up café where we informally celebrate pumpkin spice life in common. Come by yourself to enjoy a cookie and browse some magazines or bring a friend to hang out with!
